About this Research Topic
This Research Topic aims to collect and publish research on recent advances in improving the fire safety and flame retardancy of polymeric materials. With regards to the fire hazards of polymers such as serve melt dripping, smoke and toxic gases upon combustion, the low efficiency of fire retardants, and increasing concern about environmental impact, we encourage authors to submit research relating (but not limited) to problems, including theoretical methods, experimental, numerical simulations, etc. In addition, we welcome studies that incorporate the application of flame-retardant polymer and composite materials in intelligent technologies such as fire sensors, fire-safe polymer solid electrolytes, etc.
Potential topics include but are not limited to the following:
• The development of novel flame retardants, synergists, co-monomer including bio-based, nano, hybrid and intumescent materials.
• Fabrication of flame retardant polymer fiber, fabric or resins, etc.
• Characterization and investigation of flame retardant mechanisms via advanced techniques and simulation.
• Recyclability of flame retardant polymers which focused on flame retardants, polymer composites or textiles.
• Applications in various areas such as road pavement materials, construction materials, tunnels, coal mines.
