About this Research Topic
Considering the large amount of low and medium-grade thermal energy that exists in renewable energies and industrial fields, many technologies, like the Kalina cycle, osmotic heat engine, trilateral flash cycle, organic Rankine cycle, absorption refrigeration, thermoelectric generator, among others are potential choices for their utilization. This Research Topic concerns publications of low to medium-grade thermal energy utilization in renewable energies and industry. It includes researches on the experiments, simulations and theoretical analysis of any aspect of Low to Medium Heat Recovery and Utilization. Besides, submissions on interdisciplinary methods are also welcomed, such as artificial intelligence and bionic technologies.
Topics include but are not limited to:
(1) The novel materials and working fluids for low to medium heat recovery and utilization;
(2) The design, measurement, simulation and evaluation of key components in low to medium heat recovery and utilization systems;
(3) The novel and efficient low to medium temperature thermodynamic cycle systems;
(4) Analysis, control, optimization, operation of low to medium heat recovery and utilization systems;
(5) Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) analysis of heating systems.
Keywords: low to medium-grade energy, renewable energy, industrial processes, working fluid, thermodynamic cycle, heat exchange
Important Note: All contributions to this Research Topic must be within the scope of the section and journal to which they are submitted, as defined in their mission statements. Frontiers reserves the right to guide an out-of-scope manuscript to a more suitable section or journal at any stage of peer review.
