About this Research Topic
This Research Topic aims to integrate these multidisciplinary threads through which creativity and creative problem solving have been approached in these various fields, and create a strong synergy to bootstrap our overall understanding of creativity. With this objective, we welcome contributions from researchers from various cognitive science fields in which creativity has been explored, including cognitive psychology, artificial intelligence, computational creativity, cognitive robotics, and design, on the following topics:
• Theoretical contributions to the field of creativity from any discipline.
• Descriptions of, and experimentation with, computationally creative systems.
• Empirical work on hypotheses related to the processes and types of knowledge representation underlying creativity, creative problem solving, and creative reasoning.
• Cognitive models of creative processes.
• Descriptions of and experimentation with creative artificial intelligence and creative cognitive robotics systems.
• Theoretical and/or computational frameworks for creativity, creative problem solving and creative reasoning.
• Reports on interdisciplinary approaches to creativity.
• Formal descriptions of approaches, systems, and mechanisms aimed at modelling or implementing creativity.
• Proposals for new methodology and new approaches, and formal descriptions to creativity.
