The goal of this Research Topic is to decipher the intricate interplay between TFs and immune cells in the context of cancer immune infiltration. We are interested in studies exploring the function of TFs in cancer through multiple mechanisms, including direct transcriptional regulation of immune-related genes, crosstalk with signaling pathways involved in immune cell activation, and interacting with other cellular components of the tumor microenvironment. In summary, deciphering the regulatory role of transcription factors in cancer immune infiltration represents a crucial step towards unraveling the complexities of the tumor microenvironment and developing more effective immunotherapy strategies.
We welcome submissions of Original Research, Review/Mini-Review, and Perspective articles that include, but are not limited to, the following research areas:
1) Role of TFs in modulating the Tumor Immune Microenvironment in Different Cancer Types: Comparing and contrasting the transcriptional regulatory mechanisms underlying immune infiltration in various cancer types.
2) Single-cell Analysis of TF-mediated Immune Modulation: Utilizing single-cell RNA sequencing and spatial transcriptomics to dissect the heterogeneity of TF expression and activity in immune and stromal cells within the tumor microenvironment.
3) Epigenetic Regulation of TFs in Cancer Immune Response: Investigating how epigenetic modifications, such as DNA methylation and histone acetylation, regulate the expression and activity of transcription factors involved in cancer immune infiltration.
