About this Research Topic
The primary aim of this research topic is to foster a comprehensive understanding of ANFs in feed and their implications for animal nutrition and health. This includes elucidating the underlying mechanisms by which ANFs exert their physiological impacts, identifying and quantifying ANFs in different feed ingredients, and exploring the effects of ANFs on animal growth performance, nutrient utilization, and digestibility. By achieving these objectives, we hope to provide professionals in the field of animal nutrition and feed manufacturers with the knowledge and tools necessary to maximize the composition of animal feed, enhance animal well-being and health, and ultimately increase the overall sustainability of animal agriculture.
In order to gain further insights into the range and limitations of ANFs in animal feed, we welcome articles addressing, but not limited to, the following themes:
- Impact of ANFs on gut health, gastrointestinal morphology, and microbiota composition.
- Interactions between ANFs and specific animal species, breeds, or physiological stages.
- Strategies for mitigating or detoxifying ANFs in feed, including processing techniques and additives.
- Development of novel feed ingredients or formulations with reduced ANF content.
- Role of ANFs in animal diseases, immune responses, and overall animal welfare.
- Economic implications of ANF-related issues in animal production systems.
- Regulatory aspects and guidelines for monitoring and controlling ANFs in animal feed.
