The 13th APMBC and 5th ANZMBS conferences combine to engage marine biotechnologists, industry, investors, and policymakers in the Asia-Pacific region's current marine biotechnology research and industry development. Papers are moderated by an international field of experts in Marine Biotechnology. For the first time, the APMBC is held in the Australia/New Zealand region, and the conference is hosted by Flinders University Centre for Marine Bioproducts Development. The program also offers industry, investment, and policy forums to align industry needs and government priorities with productive collaborations and research and development essential for achieving the industry’s full potential.
This Research Topic will cover the following themes:
MARINE BIOMATERIALS: biocompatible products-scaffolds, bioprinting ink, wound healing, Bioplastics, packaging, renewables, bio-nanotechnology and Biomineralization.
NEW PLATFORM TECHNOLOGIES: omics technologies, gene manipulation (e.g., CrispR), marine synthetic biology and biotechnology
MARINE BIOPROCESSING AND BIOREFINERIES: advanced marine bio-manufacturing - automation, digitalisation, marine microbial biotechnology and enzymes, heterologous gene expression (host/symbiont biosynthesis),
ALGAL BIOTECHNOLOGY including micro-and macro-bioproducts: seed, seedling, cultivation, harvesting, processing, algal products and biorefinery, enhanced macro-algal cultivars, IMTA and blue carbon.
BLUE AgriTECH: marine-derived agri-chemicals and their input into cropping/horticulture/viticulture systems, marine-derived veterinary treatments, marine-derived animal feeds and methane reduction in livestock
MARINE BIOENERGY: biodiesel, biohydrogen and bioethanol, biohydrogen, bio-methane and other energy products.
The Journal will offer free publication for two early-career researchers who will be selected during the conference as the awardees.
Author Benefits
Open Access: free for readers, with article processing charges (APC) paid by authors or their institutions.
High Visibility: indexed with Scopus, SCIE (Web of Science) and other databases.
