About this Research Topic
Large-scale data analysis in Neuroscience has numerous applications, including the identification of patterns and relationships in neuronal activity, the development of models and theories, and the prediction of behavior. Therefore, there is a growing need for robust, efficient, and scalable data analysis and machine-learning tools that can handle large datasets. By leveraging the expertise of field specialists, this Research Topic endeavors to push the boundaries of Large Scale Data Analysis in Neuroscience and drive forward innovative discussions to address the current needs of the industry.
The main objective of this Research Topic is to highlight recent advancements in data-driven approaches to studying the brain. It is aimed at addressing the challenges faced in managing, processing, and analyzing large-scale data from neuroscience experiments, while also identifying future research directions. This Research Topic will explore the latest tools and techniques used to analyze, integrate and interpret large-scale data sets in neuroscience research.
This Research Topic welcomes contributions dealing with the development and application of large-scale data analysis methods in neuroscience. We encourage papers addressing, but not limited to the following topics:
(i) Development of new algorithms and techniques for machine learning and data mining tailored for large-scale analysis of neuroscience data (including genomic data among others)
(ii) Integration and collection of multiscale and multimodal data
(iii) Processing and analysis of large-scale dynamic networks and image processing, (using statistical and computational approaches among others)
All the manuscripts specifically focusing on Large-Scale computing challenges in Neuroscience should be submitted to the Research Topic Addressing Large-Scale Computing Challenges in Neuroscience: Current Advances and Future Directions
We welcome original research as well as reviews, perspectives, and opinion articles providing insights into the state of the art and future directions in the field of large-scale data analysis in neuroscience.
