Despite recent advances in the management of human cancer, metastatic progression and resistance to therapy lead to fatal outcomes for patients. Interestingly, recent evidence suggests that cancer metastasis and treatment resistance can cooperate and reinforce each other. Metastasis and therapy resistance signaling are mediated by multiple mechanisms. Investigation of important molecular mechanisms and therapeutic targets in metastasis and therapy resistance signaling networks should provide new opportunities for improving anticancer therapy.
Understanding the metastasis and therapy resistance programs will contribute to the identification of intervention points and therapy strategies to combat metastatic progression and overcome therapy resistance in integrated approaches. We welcome studies focusing on mechanisms and targets of cancer metastasis and therapy resistance, as well as potential inhibitors or drug targets to reverse cancer metastasis and therapy resistance. Any original research and reviews focusing on, but not limited to, the following subtopics are welcome:
1) Novel accurate diagnosis for cancer metastasis and therapy resistance
2) Novel strategies on therapeutic mechanisms in cancer metastasis and therapy resistance
3) Therapeutic evaluation of new pharmacological inhibitors or drug targets for cancer metastasis and therapy resistance
4) Application of deep learning and artificial intelligence in cancer metastasis and therapy resistance
5) High-quality clinical research, such as cohort studies or randomized controlled trials (RCTs)
Please note: manuscripts consisting solely of bioinformatics or computational analysis of public genomic or transcriptomic databases which are not accompanied by validation (independent cohort or biological validation in vitro or in vivo) are out of scope for this section and will not be accepted as part of this Research Topic.
