Autism Awareness Day was established in 2008 by the United Nations and has been observed since to raise global awareness and promote advocacy related to all aspects of autism spectrum disorder (ASD). This year marks the 15th annual World Autism Awareness Day. To celebrate this date and spotlight autism research, Frontiers is organizing a series of article collections around the World Autism Awareness Day 2023.This Research Topic will be used as a platform to shine a light on the latest state-of-the-art research advancing our understanding of ASD.
