About this Research Topic
Earlier, pediatric dentistry provided only therapeutic dental care for children and adolescents. Nowadays, pediatric dentistry is one of the most significant multidisciplinary fields in dentistry that intersects with various areas. Besides adult dentistry, such as orthodontics, oral and maxillofacial surgery, orofacial pain, and temporomandibular joint (TMJ) problems, other areas include public health, preventive dentistry, special care dentistry of children with disabilities, and medically compromised children are joining the pediatric dentistry field. Therefore, modern evidence-based interventions are needed to embrace this multidisciplinary approach.
This Research Topic aims to the latest updates on the following multidisciplinary areas:
• Epidemiological studies related to the child’s health.
• Cases/topics regarding oral and maxillofacial surgery in children and adolescents
• Preventive programs that can optimize oral health for children and adolescents.
• Interesting case studies in special dental care.
• Pediatric/dental clinical practice for medically compromised children
• Orofacial pain and TMD problems in children and adolescents
• New trends in the related dental fields to pediatric dentistry such as orthodontics, endodontics, and operative dentistry.
We welcome the submission of the following types of papers:
• Systematic reviews, Narrative reviews, mini-reviews, and scoping reviews
