With only 7 years left to achieve Sustainable Development Goal 5: Gender Equality, there is no better time to highlight women empowerment in the scientific community.Gender equality is a fundamental human right, and is essential to ensure a peaceful, prosperous, and sustainable world. Therefore, this Research Topic will address Sustainable Development Goal 5: Gender Equality, from a women empowerment perspective.
