Drug resistance and subsequent spreading of metastases are the leading cause of failure in the treatment of many cancers.
This Research Topic aims to collect research advances in identifying possible new drug resistance mechanisms that lead to metastases and cancer progression, new anti-cancer agents to overcome drug resistance and prevent metastases, drug delivery systems and nanomedicine to reach existing metastases and enhance chemotherapeutic efficacy.
We welcome submissions in the form of original research articles or reviews, which cover, but are not limited to, the following themes:
• New anti-cancer strategies overcoming resistance and metastases, including new small molecules, drug conjugates, muti-targeted drugs and drug combination
• New mechanisms in anti-cancer drug resistance and associated development of metastases
• New drug delivery systems to treat metastases and enhance systemic chemotherapeutic efficacy
