The
9th International Symposium on the Biology of Vertebrate Sex Determination (VSD) is a highly regarded event to be held in Kailua-Kona, HI, USA from 17 April 2023 to 21 April 2023.
This unique symposium is attended by the entire international field working on sex determination in diverse vertebrate systems, such as amphibians, fishes, birds, reptiles, monotreme, marsupial, and eutherian mammals, including domesticated species, mice, and humans.
The main objective of this meeting to bring the community together so that junior and senior scientists can exchange information, using a comparative approach to advance our understanding of the process of sex determination, sex differentiation, disorders and differences of sex development, and environmental impacts on this process. Support from VSD, from
academic institutions and from commercial sponsors allows us to offer traveling awards for trainees which maximises their involvement and further grows the vertebrate sex determination biology community.
This research topic aims to collate proceedings and celebrate the scientific contributions of conference speakers and attendees, featuring review articles, original research, perspective and opinion articles from researchers in the field.
We accept different article types including Mini-Reviews, Brief Research Reports and Perspectives. A full list of accepted article types, including descriptions, can be found at this
