Parents of neurodivergent children often experience high levels of stress and report difficulties in accessing support. In recent years, research on the underlying mechanisms of parenting stress and mental health in parents of neurodivergent children has gained tremendous interest.
The goal of this Research Topic is to examine the environmental and psychological mechanisms underlying parenting stress and mental health in parents of neurodivergent children, shedding light on new approaches and interventions as well as informing practice and policy.
We welcome manuscripts with a conceptual or methodological focus and manuscripts reporting original data. Topics may include:
• Advances in the field of parenting stress and mental health in parents of neurodivergent children that have a significant translational effect to clinical and social services
• Cultural and gender differences in parenting stress and mental health in parents of neurodivergent children
• Support needs and barriers to access support that underpins parenting stress and mental health in parents of neurodivergent children
• Innovation methods for investigating parenting stress and mental health in parents of neurodivergent children and their environmental and psychological underpinnings
