This Research Topic is Volume II of a series. The previous volume can be found here:
Long-Range Dependent Processes: Theory and ApplicationsLong-range dependent (LRD) processes remain an important topic in various fields, ranging from computer science to physics. The focuses of this Research Topic on theory and applications are twofold: on one hand is modeling, and on the other hand is dynamics of non-integer systems and noise. The application areas of LRD processes are broad – they include but are not limited to computer science, traffic dynamics, mechanical engineering, environmental science and engineering.
The goal of this Research Topic is to develop the models of LRD processes in theory and applications, including nonlinear time series in complex networks, dynamics of non-integer order systems and noise. We welcome papers covering recent advances in theory. In addition, we also welcome papers spotlighting specific applications of LRD processes, with a particular focus on modeling.
The Research Topic aims at collecting high quality papers, including Original Research, Perspectives and Reviews in the following, but not limited, areas:
• Theory and applications of long-range dependent processes.
• Multi-fractal long-range dependent processes.
• Long memory processes, 1/f noise, heavy tailed random functions and their applications.
• Dynamics and time series in complex networks.
• Dynamics of non-integer order systems and noise.
