About this Research Topic
In order to explore this fast-growing field, Frontiers is launching a new series of Research Topics focusing on the evolution of methods, processes, techniques and ways of thinking in Behavioral and Psychiatric Genetics that led to new discoveries and research approaches. In this article collection, we seek contributions exploring the changing context and the rising new perspectives within Behavioral and Psychiatric Genetics.
The emphasis of this series is on the dynamics of change and evolution of the latest progress made, as well as on the evolving methods and responses in research across the field of Behavioral and Psychiatric Genetics.
This article collection will inform, inspire and provide direction and guidance to researchers in the field.
Topics may include, but are by no means limited to:
- The integration of common variation with rare variation and Copy Number Variation in psychiatric disorders
- Identification of specific cell types involved in psychiatric disorders
- Interplay between genes and the environment that influence human behavioral traits and the manifestation and pathology of psychiatric illness
- Transfer of knowledge from basic science to clinical application and accommodates research covering a wide range of phenotypes, encompassing both normal variation in the population and psychopathological extremes
