In April 2016, in Saint Petersburg, Russia, the International Conference on Biomedical innovations for healthy longevity, sponsored by IVAO foundation, commenced. More than 300 researchers in genetics of aging, biogerontology, bioinformatics and medicine presented their results and hypotheses. Participants from 19 countries around the world discussed recent breakthroughs in understanding the genetics of longevity, the mechanisms of aging and possible pharmacological interventions promising to have health-beneficial and life-prolonging effects.
This Research Topic is aimed to provide a collection of articles based on or related to the talks and posters presented at the 2016 conference. The main topics include:
-Genomics, metabolomics, proteomics of longevity
-Neurocognitive Aging
-Epigenetic mechanisms of aging
-Biomarkers of biological age
-Systems biology and bioinformatics of aging
-Environment and aging
-Pharmacologic interventions in aging
All participants of the conference are welcome to submit the following article types: original Research Papers, Review Articles (Including Mini Reviews), Opinions, Methods, Hypothesis & Theory, and General Commentary.
