Neurotrauma, mainly refers to traumatic brain injury (TBI), peripheral nerve injury (PNI) or spinal cord injury (SCI), which is a major public health issue worldwide. It is still considered incurable due to its complicated pathophysiological mechanisms and lifelong neurological deficits. In order to generate more solid and beneficial clinical trials, scientists have been striving to achieve breakthroughs through a variety of approaches, including postinjury microenvironment, neuropathic pain, neural regeneration (referring to molecules including enzymes, receptors, structural proteins, etc.), and accordingly therapeutic interventions. This research topic aims to elucidate the potential pathophysiological mechanism of neurotrauma and molecular mechanisms of neurogenesis, and to search for new neurotrauma biomarkers as indicators of treatment effectiveness. In addition, we also aim to explore new methods, tools and any strategies to facilitate nerve repair and improve neurological function after neurotrauma.

- Postinjury microenvironment changes, covering BBB(BSCB) disruption, neuroinflammation, angiogenesis, and cellular survival. Signaling pathways, molecular proteins and genes involved in the regulation of microenvironments are also of interest in this topic
- The molecular mechanisms of neuropathic pain related to neuronal hyperexcitability, glutamate cytotoxicity, or chemokine release.
