We are delighted to present the 2022 Edition of our Frontiers in Chemistry “Rising Stars” article collection. This collection showcases the high-quality work of internationally recognized researchers in the early stages of their independent careers.

All Rising Star researchers were individually nominated by our Guest Editors and Chief Editors in recognition of their potential to influence the future directions in their respective fields. This year, we have selected Guest Editors who were featured as our Rising Stars in our previous collection together with Editorial Board members. The work presented here highlights the diversity of research performed across the entire breadth of chemical science and presents advances in theory, experiment and methodology with applications to compelling problems.

New articles will be added to this collection as they are published.
