Nowadays, transplant oncology has gone far beyond the scope of surgery. It is a comprehensive discipline formed by the intersection, integration, penetration and promotion of surgery, oncology, immunology, organ preservation, immunosuppressive pharmacology, imaging, and other related disciplines. In 2014, Taizo Hibi, a professor at Kumamoto University, firstly proposed the concept of liver transplant oncology. As an emerging discipline, transplant oncology has opened up a new era of liver transplantation for the treatment of malignant tumors. In general, it is of great significance to achieve accurate diagnosis and treatment in the new era of liver transplant oncology.
This Research Topic aims to bring together scientists focusing on liver transplantation for liver cancer in the era of transplant oncology.
