Children with neurodevelopmental disorders, such DCD, ADHD, or ASD, often experience many difficulties in cognitive-motor tasks at home or school. These problems may in turn impact their physical health (e.g., physical inactivity or unfitness) and/or mental well-being (i.e., internalizing problems or lower self-concept). Therefore, this Research Topic aims to help better understand the relationship between cognitive and motor development and how cognitive-motor development may affect physical and mental health in preschool or school-aged children with neurodevelopmental disorders. Additionally, the focus will be on how cognitive-motor interventions may improve children's health.
We welcome contributions that explore the following topics:
1. The relationship between cognitive and motor development in children with neurodevelopmental disorders
2. The impact of cognitive-motor development on child's physical and mental health
3. The effects of cognitive-motor intervention on child health
