Assistive and rehabilitation technologies may assist or improve physical, cognitive, emotional and/or social well being.
The goal is take an interdisciplinary approach to improve the quality of life, increase independence and community integration of individuals with reduced functional capabilities due to aging, disability or injury. An interdisciplinary method analyzing and synthesizing knowledge from stakeholders such as engineers, medical professionals, physical and occupational therapists, caregivers, end-users, government agencies and insurance companies, will address issues related to assistive and rehabilitation technologies in a coordinated way. Understanding the problem from an holistically and user focused, this Research Topic will showcase cutting edge research and development of assistive, rehabilitation and robotics technologies.
We invite submissions that show development, clinical testing or policy changing research involving assistive or rehabilitation technologies. We encourage submissions from all stakeholders interested in assistive or rehabilitation technologies including engineers, medical professionals, physical and occupational therapists, caregivers, end-users, government agencies and insurance companies.
