With the deepening of epidemiologic studies, clinical trials, and intensive fundamental investigations, heterogeneity among subtypes of non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) has been gradually brought to attention. In the era of new diagnostic and therapeutic interventions, follow-up strategies and therapeutic approaches for different subtypes of NSCLC are changing.
We aim to highlight the innovations and surgical challenges in the diagnosis, treatment, and prognosis for each subtype of NSCLC from the perspective of biological behavior and prognosis difference. We hope this topic will bring new insights to oncologists, surgeons, and researchers. Clinical results with innovative perspectives and disruptive results, including prospective and retrospective studies are especially welcome. Basic studies that have the vast prospect of clinical application are also welcome. Contents may include but are not limited to, the following:
• Prognostic and biological differences according to subtypes of NSCLC
• New insights into diagnostic and therapeutic interventions for NSCLC
• New insights into the current stage and classification of NSCLC
• Basic studies of heterogeneity among subtypes of NSCLC
