The rapid development of intelligent technologies (e.g., virtual idol, chatbot & virtual company, digital personal assistant, intelligent information retrieving, analysis, presentation, and recommendation, AI diagnosis) have greatly reshaped people’s behaviors, especially in the post-covid era when social distancing and stay-at-home policies and others estrange people from their accustomed way of work and life. Moreover, this trend of more interaction with intelligent technologies and less communication with family, co-workers or community seems to be enhancing. Research attention needs to be paid to understanding the impact of such societal transformation.
In this Research Topic, we aim to solicit a range of original research articles, systematic reviews, and meta-analyses to advance our understanding of how intelligent technologies are applied in different forms of commutation, such as inter-person communication, group, and community communication, what are possible impacts, a potential new methodology to adopt and analyze such phenomenon and impacts, on both individual and societal levels. In particular, we are interested in interdisciplinary research that draws from various academic fields such as psychology, communication, data sciences, computer sciences, engineering, and arts.
Topics of interest include but are not limited to:
