In view of the prevalence of gynecological cancers and the substantial burden, these diseases have on women around the world, further research is still very much needed to optimize therapy for these cancers. Increasing evidence suggests that endocrine aspects play a crucial role in the pathogenesis of the different gynecological cancers: cervical cancer, ovarian cancer, endometrial cancer, vaginal cancer, and vulvar cancer.
Establishing new reliable prognostic factors as well as specific targets for new therapeutic approaches is an urgent requirement in gynecological cancers. Insights into the endocrine-related pathogenesis could contribute to a better understanding of these malignancies.
The purpose of this Research Topic is to highlight all endocrine aspects of gynecological cancers. We welcome state-of-the-art original research articles, reviews, clinical trials, methods, hypotheses/theories, perspectives, opinions, and commentaries.
