This Research Topic aims to address the current issues faced by principal investigators, lab managers, and student supervisors who educate and train new/early-stage researchers within the field of public health.

Public Health professionals play a vital role in maintaining the health and well-being of the population by working to prevent disease and ultimately prolong the life of individuals. These researchers work to influence policy, educate everyone on improving their health, and bridge the inequality gap by encouraging equal opportunities for the whole population. We seek to offer innovative solutions to develop and encourage early-stage researchers to think in a scientific way and set them up for success as public health professionals.

In this Research Topic, we welcome manuscripts that help to address some of the following important points:
• The need for a general understanding of statistics when writing and reviewing manuscripts
• The challenge of multidisciplinary learning that needs to be considered often in Public Health
• The importance of consistently building new skills when facing new challenges and projects

We welcome contributions in the form of original research, review, mini review, case report, hypothesis and theory, perspective, and experimental studies that cover, but are not limited to, the following themes relating to public health education:
• Identifying and interpreting data
• Planning and advocating for policies and programs
• Leadership and systems thinking
• Communication and relationship-building with communities
