Here we present the ‘Aspiring Researchers in Bone Research’ article collection. A series dedicated to highlighting and support students in their first publication experience.
Across the world students are undertaking key research as part of their education in Bone Research, however, most of this research is not communicated to the wider audience. We recognise that for those students producing publishable findings as part of their student projects or dissertation, this represents an important milestone in gaining their first scientific publication. At Frontiers, our interactive peer-review, tailored to provide hands-on guidance and constructive feedback to researchers, is ideally suited to support those with no previous experience of the publication process. Furthermore, publication in a dedicated article collection will maximise exposure.
The research presented here highlights the quality and diversity of student researchers across the field of Bone Research. We welcome contributions in the form of original research, review, mini review, case report, hypothesis and theory, perspective, both experimental and computational studies that cover, but are not limited to, following themes:
• Basic research related to cell and developmental bone biology, structure and function of skeletal tissues, and bone physiology.
• The pathogenesis, diagnosis, prevention, treatment and public health impact of adult and paediatric bone disorders
• Osteoporosis, osteomalacia, Paget’s disease, genetic diseases of bone, and related endocrine disorders.
This Research Topic will help highlight the work of burgeoning scientists and allow the community to follow their aspiring careers.
