Clinical risk management is becoming an increasingly important issue in healthcare systems. This is crucial as it affects patient safety and optimizes patient outcomes. Moreover, care safety is an element that influences the quality of patient care. Through this Research Topic, we aim to learn about the patient’s and hospital employees’ issues and the solutions to these problems, focusing on sleep disorders, depression, PTSD, delirium, and eating disorders. Particular attention should be paid to key factors to reach successful outcomes, such as quality of work and care, and hospital safety.
This research topic aims to promote a healthy and safe work environment that contributes to the quality and safety of hospital stays and patient care. We want to encourage researchers from different countries, cultures, and academia to promote environmental safety, suggesting solutions to the problems faced by hospital workers and patients, such as mechanical ventilation, sleep deprivation, and eating disorders. The COVID-19 pandemic had a destructive impact on the safety of patients, and we have witnessed the consequences on work care. Many people suffer nowadays from delirium, PTSD, and other disturbances because of getting sick and working with and during the COVID-19 pandemic. Incorporating an alternative understanding of these problems and their impact on mental health, together with conducting innovative research can contribute to the development of cutting-edge theories and approaches to hospital safety bringing in this way solutions to the hospital environments.
The editors want to encourage researchers to think about the problems that can be encountered in the hospital. Elements that are included in the subject of the issue include but are not limited to:
• Scientific articles that cover research using the topic of delirium, PTSD, sleep disorders, and patient problems at ICU;
• Theoretical or research works that may show the problem of patient safety in the hospital;
• Articles that promote innovative approaches to work safety and care in the hospital;
• Research articles that integrate interdisciplinary approaches and methods (e.g. clinic, community, population).
