About this Research Topic
As we enter the third decade of the 21st century, the field of communication studies plays a more crucial role in understanding the contemporary world than ever before. Analyzing the role of modes and means of communication in areas as diverse as politics, culture, healthcare, advertising, the environment, and the working world is crucial in grasping our increasingly technologically mediated ways of life and our relationship to the world around us.
To this end, Frontiers in Communication is organizing a series of Research Topics to highlight the latest advancements in the field. This editorial initiative, led by Prof. Tarla Rai Peterson, Specialty Chief Editor of the Science and Environmental Communication section, is focused on new insights, novel developments, current challenges, recent advances, and future perspectives in the field of science and environmental communication.
The Research Topic solicits forward-looking contributions from editorial board members that either describe the state of the art or highlight the changes needed to move the field forward. Authors are encouraged to identify the greatest challenges in the sub-disciplines, and how to address those challenges.
