Frontiers in Energy Research is delighted to launch a new article collection series, "Policy in," which aims to provide a comprehensive overview of policy and regulatory strides for each area of energy research.
This Research Topic focuses on policy and practice in Solar Energy research and highlights how this can be used by regulatory and decision-making bodies (e.g., government, industry, and the academy). The main emphasise of this collection is on the policy of solar energy development in achieving carbon neutrality goals.
Under the guidance of the strategic goal of global carbon neutrality, the solar energy industry, led by photovoltaics, has expectations of high growth and high vision, and will become the industrial outlet in the coming decades. Regional solar energy industry refers to the collection of enterprises and institutions that participate in a series of process activities such as the development and application of solar energy resources. In order to reduce carbon emissions, countries and regions around the world actively build carbon trading markets, aiming to control carbon emissions with the help of market forces and jointly build a low-carbon economy. Carbon neutrality not only affects the economic development of various countries, but also reshapes the global geopolitical pattern.
This Research Topic corroborates this approach by debating the importance of solar energy transition, and development achieving carbon neutral goal. All relevant topics are welcome, especially but not limited to the following topics:
• Rural photovoltaic development management planning and policy effect evaluation
• The role of green tech in accelerating solar energy conservation and emission reduction
• Solar energy efficiency improvement and industrial changes toward carbon neutrality
• Solar energy investment and green finance for carbon neutrality
• Optimization and evaluation of global trade policy for solar PV products
• Comparative analysis of supporting policies for solar energy industry in different countries or regions
--
This Research Topic especially welcomes:
• Policy & Practice Reviews: Comprehensive overview of current and relevant topics related to policy/ regulations/ guidelines across the field of smart grids.
• Policy Briefs: Short reports providing a practical and evidence-based evaluation of policy-related issues.
• Case studies: Research studies investigating topics in local communities and entities, and the private sector as well as non-governmental organizations.
