Hormone synthesis and metabolism in animals and humans have been reported for many years. Hormonal alterations affected animal behavior and pregnancy status. Recent studies showed that pathogenic microorganism is the main reason leading to the hormone changes, which finally caused abortion. Many potential hormone-like molecules have been reported recently, further illustrating the importance of hormone changes. For instance, placensin, secreted by human placenta, plays an important role in human pregnancy and pregnant diseases. Expression of placensin was related to blood sugar changes in pregnant women. However, the regulatory mechanisms were not clarified. It is essential to know the regulatory mechanism of these molecules, especially during pregnancy in domestic animals.
This Research Topic aims to investigate the physiological regulation mechanism of reproductive hormones in domestic animals.
Potential sub-topics include but are not limited to:
• New discovered sex hormone and its regulation mechanism in animals
• Regulation mechanism of hormones in domestic animals
• Hormone changes and related mechanisms of pregnancy diseases in animals
Keywords:
domestic animals, reproductive hormone, pregnant diseases; animals abortion, hormone synthesis, hormone decomposition
