Chronic Rhinosinusitis with Nasal Polyps (CRSwNP), a chronic inflammatory disease, has a huge impact on a patients health-related quality of life due to its symptom and treatment burden. An understanding of patient perspectives about their disease and engagement of health care providers in a shared decision making will both empower patients, improve adherence and lead to better disease outcomes. The advent of new therapeutics for treating patients with CRSwNP has expanded the therapeutic options for patients but the role of patients remains limited.
This Research Topic aims to explore:
1. What are the perspectives of patients with CRSwNP?
2. How are treatment decisions made and what is the involvement of patients in those?
3. How are patient perspectives captured in research studies and clinical practice, and how are those utilized to improve patient care?
Suitable themes for manuscripts include, but are not limited to:
1. Patient perspectives in CRSwNP research and clinical practice
2. CRSwNP: treatment guidelines and shared decision making
3. Impact of CRSwNP on patients daily lives – is the known burden just tip of the iceberg?
4. Patient and physician education
5. Impact of comorbidities on patients with CRSwNP
All article types accepted by Frontiers in Allergy are welcome.
