The current collection continues the series of Research Topics (please see here for our previous RT: https://www.frontiersin.org/research-topics/17947/bioinformatics-of-genome-regulation-volume-ii) in Frontiers in Genetics presenting the highlights from the international conferences on bioinformatics and systems biology held in Russia. In this edition we would like to collect papers on genetics and biomedicine from the Bioinformatics of Genome Regulation and Structure \ Systems Biology - 2022 (BGRS\SB-2022) conference in Novosibirsk, Russia.
Since 1998, the conference series BGRS\SB has been held every two years to cover interdisciplinary fields of bioinformatics, computer system biology and their applications in biomedicine, pharmacology, bioengineering, plant biology, biotechnology, as well as evolutionary genetics and genomics. The main focus of material this year is the study of gene expression regulation in a genome at the DNA, RNA, and protein informational level in living cells.
Therefore, this Research Topic is an effort to assess the role of regulation of gene expression as background of gene function manifestation at genome level.
The goal is to present current computational methods for genomics problems based on genomics, transcriptomics and proteomics data, gene networks, protein-protein interactions and biomedical literature mining.
The Research Topic is open for submission for all the authors studying problems of gene expression regulation using systems biology approaches.
We welcome original research papers, reviews and new ideas related, but not limited, to the following genome regulation computational topics:
• Bioinformatics of gene expression regulation at the level of transcription
• Gene expression regulation by epigenetic modification
• Medical genetics and genomics
• Medical genomics and transcriptomics
• Gene networks in diseases
• Plant genetics and biotechnology based on omics technology
• Computational tools for genome regulation studies
• Literature mining in medical genomics and gene function studies
• Systems biology approaches and e-health
This RT will not accept submissions related to re-analysis of public data with no functional validation or replication in independent studies
The Topic Editors declare that they are affiliated with the BGRS\SB-2022 conference Organizing Committee (https://bgrssb.icgbio.ru/2022/).
