At Frontiers in Physiology we wish to celebrate the
World Bee Day and be a forum for the community of bee researchers. From fundamental research on bee physiology to applied research on relevant themes such as ecology, conservation and evolution of bees, this Research Topic welcomes research that improves our understanding of the biology of bees and their ecosystems. Potential areas of interest may include, but are not limited to:
- Agrochemical use impact on bee physiology
- Climate change impact on bee physiology
- Development and aging in bees
- Diet, metabolism, and gut bacteria in bees
- Effect of alien invasive plants and insects on bee communities - physiological consequences
- Effect of honey bee competition to wild bees - physiological consequences
- Immune dysregulation in bees
- Malnutrition in honey bees
- Molecular biology in queen breeding
- Nutritional physiology in bees
- Pathogen transmission between bee species
- Pathogen effects on bee physiology
We welcome the submission of different article types to this collection, especially reviews, mini-reviews, and original research papers. For a complete list of article types that can be considered in the Invertebrate Physiology section, please follow this
link.
Even though abstract submission is not mandatory, we encourage all interested researchers to submit an abstract before submitting their manuscript. Abstracts do not have to coincide with the final abstract of the manuscripts.
