The aim of this Research Topic is to compile and integrate articles relating to outcomes of employee life satisfaction. Managers tend to ignore these consequences and focus on profits exclusively, particularly during difficult times. Therefore, it would be instructive to highlight how these important consequences (our findings) could be taken into account to boost their profits, improve employee satisfaction, and increase networking possibilities. Another aspect of this subject may include investigations into how remote work is affecting employee engagement given the disconnection from face-to-face communication. Is remote work leading to lowered life satisfaction, engagement, and social capital? How is the remote work context affecting satisfaction leading to (lesser or greater) work productivity? This broad topic provides plenty of room for heuristic explorations.
Some of the goals of this endeavor include studies on how life and job satisfaction as well as social capital factors actually provide outcomes that indirectly lead to organizational success. We would be interested in finding out which elements of communication (written, face-to-face etc.) provide the greatest satisfaction in varying contexts. Contexts to be considered include varying organizational cultures and varied professions. Case studies would also be helpful in providing evidence of these relationships. Another goal of this compilation would be to identify factors contributing to engagement at work that increase work satisfaction and resulting productivity factors.
