The prevalence of highly pathogenic livestock viral diseases poses a serious threat to animal health. These diseases include porcine reproductive and respiratory syndrome, porcine coronavirus disease, and porcine circovirus disease. On the other hand, environmental pollutants like mycotoxins (DON, ZEA, AFB1, FB1), heavy metals (Hg, Pb, Cd), plasticizers, and herbicides can weaken the immunity of livestock, resulting in a high incidence of viral diseases. Therefore, it is very important to study the effects of environmental pollutants and their antagonists on livestock immunity.
The aim of this Research Topic is to highlight and stimulate discussion regarding the effects and mechanisms of environmental pollutants on livestock immunosuppression. We welcome manuscripts from the following subtopics:
• The relationship between environmental pollutants and decline of livestock immune function.
• The relationship between environmental pollutants and livestock viral diseases.
• Effects of antagonists of environmental pollutants on livestock immunity.
