Concrete has been widely used as a building material all over the world, because of its high strength, elasticity modulus, plasticity and workability. However, traditional concrete consumes a large amount of cement and natural aggregate, resulting in environmental problems. Moreover, the Portland cement industry has been a major source of greenhouse gas emissions. On the other hand, a huge quantity of industrial waste needs a proper disposition to reduce environmental pollution. Therefore, these industrial wastes, such as fly ash, waste rubber, ceramic waste, waste slag and construction waste, are highly recommended to be used as concrete composites. Consequently, it’s beneficial to reduce industrial waste and greenhouse gas emissions.
The proposed Research Topic entitles “Fabrication and Properties of Concrete Containing Industrial Waste” emphasizes the new concepts, ideas, and advancing research progress on the design, fabrication, development, properties and application of concrete materials containing industrial waste for civil engineering. We welcome authors to submit Original Research, Review articles, Mini Review from but not limited to the following themes.
• Concrete containing industrial by-products
• Concrete containing waste rubber
• Concrete containing waste slag
• Concrete containing ceramic waste
• Concrete containing recycled materials
• Preparation technology of concrete containing industrial waste
• Fresh properties of concrete containing industrial waste
• Physical and mechanical behavior of concrete containing industrial waste
• Durability of concrete containing industrial waste
• Fracture properties of concrete containing industrial waste
• Testing methods of concrete containing industrial waste
• Applications of concrete containing industrial waste
