In recent decades a growing number of women have pursued STEM careers and work in STEM related research. Since 1970 this number has grown from 8% to 27% in 2019. Science and gender equality are essential to ensure sustainable development as highlighted by UNESCO, and the work of these researchers has been invaluable in advancing a diverse array of discoveries and technological advances.
In recognition of this work, and to encourage further involvement from future generations of women in STEM fields, Frontiers in Endocrinology, Reproduction is proud to offer this platform to promote the work of women scientists, across all aspects of reproductive endocrinology.
The work presented here highlights the diversity of research performed across the entire breadth of the field and presents advances in theory, experiment, and methodology with applications to compelling problems. We welcome original research, reviews, mini reviews, perspectives, methods, and systematic reviews.
