We are delighted to launch the inaugural Frontiers in Ecology and Evolution 'Women in Conservation and Restoration Ecology” article collection.
This collection celebrates the increasing contribution of women to scientific research, and aims to encourage furthering this contribution. According to UNESCO, less than 30% of researchers worldwide are women. Presenting role models helps to dispel long-standing biases and gender stereotypes that discourage girls and women from science-related fields. Science and gender equality are essential to ensure sustainable development, as highlighted by UNESCO.
Frontiers in Ecology and Evolution is proud to offer this platform to promote the work of women scientists, across all fields of conservation and restoration ecology.
The work presented here highlights the diversity of research performed across the entire breadth of conservation and restoration ecology research and presents advances in theory, experiment, and methodology with applications to compelling problems.
Please note: to be considered for this collection, the first or last author should be a researcher who identifies as a woman.
