It has become increasingly apparent in recent years that digital health technologies have the potential to increase the access and quality of mental health care. However, there is little evidence that such innovations can be successfully implemented in real clinical practice as substantial uncertainties still remain. Public discourse reveals the ways in which digital mental health is perceived and constructed in everyday life. Therefore, understanding discourses of stakeholders of a digital health innovation ecosystem (including patients, professionals, governments, research institutions and digital health companies) may provide deeper insight into how to promote digital mental health. However, to date, little is known about digital mental health discourse and what drives it.
