The field of Public Health and Nutrition relates to the understanding that the prevention of disease and improving quality life is dependent on good nutritional status. Nutrition is integral to development and helps aid stronger immune systems and a lower risk of non-communicable diseases. On the other hand, it is important to consider the negative effects of poor nutrition (under and over nutrition) on health and development, as this can lead to health conditions such as diabetes or cardiovascular disease. Public Health and Nutrition aims to evaluate research at both the individual, community and policy levels that assess the significant advances in the field, in order to better understand a global perspective on diet and public health.
The Chief Editor of our Public Health and Nutrition section, Prof. Terry Huang, is developing this Research Topic in order to address the relationship between nutrition and public health, and to evaluate the health risks associated with under/over nutrition. For this special issue, we welcome expert Opinions or Perspective articles on challenges and new frontiers in public health nutrition, including but not limited to:
- Systems science and nutrition
- Precision nutrition
- Technology-based/assisted solutions to improve nutrition
- Climate change and food
- Global mental health and nutrition
