Transcatheter aortic valve replacement has now become an established therapeutic option for patients with aortic stenosis, regardless of baseline surgical risk. Transcatheter treatment of aortic stenosis has reached its maturity with high rate of procedural success and a favorable safety profile as compared to surgical aortic valve replacement.
With this research topic, we aim to provide a comprehensive overview of recent advances in the field of transcatheter aortic valve implantation in different clinical settings, focusing on state-of-the-art patient-tailored approach (e.g. new implantation techniques, peripheral vascular closure, prevention and treatment of conduction disturbances, coronary access, TAVI-in-TAVI etc.)
Authors are encouraged to submit original research manuscripts as well as state-of-the-art reviews, meta-analysis and case reports on recent advances of transcatheter aortic valve replacement. Papers on implantation of newly available devices, percutaneous treatment of aortic disease in novel clinical settings (such as bicuspid aortic valve disease, aortic insufficiency, asymptomatic severe or moderate aortic stenosis etc.) are also welcome.
