Immune Mediated rheumatic diseases such as Sjögren's syndrome, systemic lupus erythematosus, rheumatoid arthritis, systemic sclerosis and vasculitis are complex and disease mechanisms are not fully understood. Diagnosis and treatment have still room for improvement based on a better characterization of the molecular pathology behind these diseases. This special topic aims to collect submissions that address the "omics" aspects of these diseases, and how they relate to diagnosis, and treatment. Integrative multi-omics analysis of molecular regulatory mechanisms and the oral-gut microbiota in these diseases will help researchers find novel targets for treatment. Identifying the associated phenotypes will aid in more accurate and efficient diagnoses by clinicians.
