The diseases of horticultural crops are always a serious problem that results in significant economic losses and causes potential food safety. With the development of microbiome and genome editing, more opportunities are provided to study biocontrol, including biocontrol agents, plant diseases, and the related techniques and large-scale experiments.
This Research Topic welcomes reviews and original research about the cutting edge knowledge on biological control of horticultural crops (e.g., microbiome, bioinformatics, genomics, genome editing), including but not limited to the following themes:
• The response of microbial communities to horticultural crops
• The diversity of microbiota
• The interaction between microbes and horticultural crops
• Whole-genome sequencing, transcriptome analysis, and transcriptional changes
• Genetic causes of the non- or pathogenic strains
• Important diseases or pathogens in horticultural crops
