About this Research Topic
This research topic invites submissions of any contributions on bioactive natural products isolated from marine microorganisms or produced using synthetic biology techniques, with a focus on bioactivity screening, novel natural product discovery, structural characterization, genome mining, elucidation of biosynthetic pathways, genomics- and metabolomics-driven studies, and their potential applications.
We accept the following types of manuscripts: original research manuscripts, reviews, methods papers, perspectives that fall within any themes related to marine microorganisms biotechnology including bioactive natural products from marine microorganisms and their unique chemistry, different techniques used to enhance the productivity of certain bioactive compounds by marine microorganisms, novel bioactive nanoformulations that can be produced from marine microorganisms-derived natural products, and the applications of biomaterials and biopolymers derived from marine microorganisms.
Keywords: natural products, marine microorganisms, in vitro assay, molecular modeling, in vivo assay, synthetic biology
Important Note: All contributions to this Research Topic must be within the scope of the section and journal to which they are submitted, as defined in their mission statements. Frontiers reserves the right to guide an out-of-scope manuscript to a more suitable section or journal at any stage of peer review.
