Transcription factors regulate the differentiation of hematopoietic cells. It has been shown for a number of transcription factors that deregulated expression or structural variants can contribute to the development of hematological malignancies by inducing epigenetic changes. Besides these classical functions, recent year research has implicated transcription factors in metabolic alteration, DNA repair, 3D genome structure changes or even implication of transcription factors in immune cell and stroma function. Finally, with the rise of new classes of drugs, it has become possible to target transcription factors. The aim of this Research Topic is to review the latest development in this field and present primary research on how to advance the field.
The goal is to spot new light on the function of transcription factors in the development of hematological malignancies. It shall give all readers an overview over the latest development and which new frontiers need to be addressed in the future.
We are especially interested in:
-Novel function of transcription factor in the development of hematological malignancies
-How this can exploited possibly on a therapeutic level
-Overview of the function of transcription factor in the development of leukemia and lymphoma
