This Research Topic is dedicated to Prof. Frank Rösch (Institute of Nuclear Chemistry, Johannes Gutenberg-University Mainz, Germany.) in occasion of his retirement and is a tribute to celebrate his outstanding scientific achievements and the impact of his research within the field of radiopharmaceutical chemistry.
Prof. Rösch devoted his efforts to the fields of physico-chemistry, radiochemistry and radiopharmaceutical chemistry of metallic radionuclides and their compounds in diagnostic and therapeutic applications. He has been an inspiration for his colleagues and the number of students that he has supervised during his career. Moreover, he was involved in the initiation of a series of World Congresses on Gallium-68 and Peptide Receptor Radionuclide Therapy (1st World Congress: Bad Berka, Germany, 2011), which now has turned into Theranostic World Congresses.
With this respect, we aim to collect a broad conglomeration of articles of the latest accomplishments within the field of radiopharmaceutical chemistry. As we currently moving the field into theranostic applications and strengthen its use with personalized medicine, this collection is timely and should represent the recent advances throughout the field from basic to applied research. We welcome articles written by friends and collaborators on such topics as an acknowledgement to Prof. Rösch for his research activity and friendship.
