Artificial micro/nano motors and robots are at the forefront of nanotechnology research in the current scientific scenario. Such new automatized and miniaturized tools can perform autonomous task, being equipped with sensing and actuating attachments for specific applications. Micro/nano motors and robots are currently the subject of intense interest due to their potential applications in nanomachinery, nanomedicine, fluidic systems, nanoscale transport, and assembly. In the not-so-distant future, microscopic robots could be integrated into portable instrumentation for personalized diagnosis in healthcare monitoring, repair equipment in small spaces or remove pollutants in water treatment plants. To do so, specific control of the materials used for fabrication, motion and intelligent or cooperative behavior should be tightly controlled. Biocompatibility and adequate imaging are also of paramount significance to achieve such goal.
