About this Research Topic
This Research Topic aims to highlight the latest advances in our understanding of organelle biogenesis, function and biodiversity. For model plants, we welcome studies on the mechanisms underlying how proteins, lipids and cofactors regulate organelle biogenesis and function in the context of plant cells. Additionally, we ask how both inter-organellar communication and extracellular signaling pathways regulate the abundance, composition and position of each organelle. For non-model plant cells, we welcome studies revealing organelle biodiversity in terms of organelle morphology, function and biogenesis.
We welcome diverse types of articles including Original Research, Review, Mini Review, Methods, Perspective and Opinion. The Research Topic will cover the following areas:
- Regulation of redundant protein trafficking and targeting pathways for organelle biogenesis and function in plant cells.
- Different mechanisms regulate lipids travelling between organelles.
- Self-regulated inter-organellar signaling pathways control the abundance and composition of organelles.
- Crosstalk between different organelles for organelle biogenesis.
- Extracellular signaling pathways regulate the biogenesis and functions of organelles under biotic and abiotic stresses.
- Organelle biodiversity in terms of organelle morphology, function and biogenesis from non-model plants.
