High-pressure Physical Behavior of Minerals and Rocks: Mineralogy, Petrology and Geochemistry.
The 8th “From Atom to Earth” symposium on high-pressure science and Earth science will be held in Guiyang, China between July 2nd and 5th, 2021. Professor Lidong Dai, the conference president from the Key Laboratory of High-temperature and High-pressure Study of the Earth’s Interior, Institute of Geochemistry, Chinese Academy of Sciences welcomes researchers in this field to join this event to share the latest findings and discoveries. This symposium will mainly discuss the new progress in the field of physical and chemical behaviors of minerals and rocks at high-temperature and high-pressure conditions. This Research Topic hosted in Frontiers in Earth Science will provide an opportunity to show the breakthrough in the aspect of high-pressure mineral physics. All attendees of the 8th “From Atom to Earth” symposium on high-pressure science and Earth science are welcome to submit high-quality manuscripts to this Research Topic. Contributions from other interested professionals are also welcome.
This Research Topic aims to explore the high-pressure physical behavior of minerals and rocks. In-situ experimental measurements of high-pressure physical parameters, high-pressure spectroscopy characterizations and theoretical calculations are all included. High-quality Original Research and Review articles in this field are all welcome for submission to this Research Topic. Research interests include but are not limited to the following areas:
1. High temperature and high-pressure experimental technology and its application in earth sciences and other scientific fields
2. Atomic-scale simulation study of earth matter
3. The existence form and transformation mechanism of deep earth carbon, the influence of deep earth carbon cycle on earth evolution, global climate change and fossil energy
4. The material composition and properties of the discontinuous interface inside the earth and the interface effects of different scales
5. Deep earth fluids and mineral resources and environmental disasters
6. The material composition, structure and evolution of the Moon and Mars
7. New materials under extreme conditions of high pressure
8. Material structure and properties under high pressure
9. Natural gas hydrate
